Ron Paul for President
You know why I like Ron Paul?
Well, I’ll tell you why. Because he does not scare the shit out of me whenever he speaks. Because he is a likable guy (so likable that I just donated another $5, which isn’t a lot but its the only time I ever gave money to a candidate).
Because when I checked out his track record, which is freely available on his site as well as other sources, he actually seemed like a politician who takes his job seriously. Who actually works for the betterment of the USA, not just to make a buck from his office.
And because when compared to the other candidates that are bidding for the presidency, I see him telling America as a whole about the things that have to be done to fix this country, not about how he alone would fix them if he were president, but what any president has to do. To me he is saying “Here is what has to be done and if no one else is going to do it then I will”.
Now I am not to most politically minded person on the planet. I, in point of fact, hate politics with the fire of a thousand suns. So if you have a problem with what I say or what I believe (*cough* personallimburgbaby *cough*) then feel free to correct me on it.

Nope. You came to the same conclusion I did. There are things about him I don’t like but I would absolutely through my vote his way if given the chance by the powers that be (which I won’t).
Check out his stance on net neutrality for the stain that will unfortunately eat the rest of the flag. “Free Market” is great. I’ll put my money there every time (no pun intended), but his basic philosophy that the one and only reason the government exists is to protect the people from foreign intrusion needs to be updated to include the same giant corp power structures that are so successfully marginalizing him out of a realistic run. “Let the market decide” only works if the markets are allowed to make decisions.

Perhaps, if given this chance, the people will see through the mega corp’s marginalization and make the right decision.
I feel that if this election goes badly (bad as in anyone but Paul gets elected) then this country will never recover. We will end up losing what little credibility we still have and our friends will quickly abandon us as a lost cause.
In short, at the moment, it sucks to be us.
